Many Years ago, your email address was determined either by where you work or by your internet provider. Semi-Permanent email addresses from things like gmail, yahoo mail, or hotmail were not widely used and social networking (facebook, myspace, google plus) did not exist. So, if you changed jobs, or change internet providers (trying to get a better connection speed or price) you had to change your email address and get everybody to update you in their address book. I decided, I wanted an address that was mine and was unique; something that would not change. So DragonDepot was created.

The name came from a few different things. ‘Dragon’ represents my love of fantasy, imagination, and creativity. ‘Depot’ represents my desire for a digital place to store and share my pictures, digital art, and mental ramblings. The site once had a blog (my mental ramblings) but I stopeed blogging and dleted it years ago.

Photography is one of my hobbies, so the site was used for photo galleries. I also like creating and manipulating images in Photoshop. For ease of gallery management I moved them to Picasaweb. Picasaweb has been discontinued. I will find a new home for my photgraphy and digital art someday.

I have considered closing the dragondepot a few times, but I still don’t want to give up my email address.
